About:

Lawn Bowls is an ongoing project by artist Finn O`Sullivan. Established in 2020, Finn has been crafting glass objects since discovering her love of the material. 

After finishing a bachelors degree in print making at the Queensland College of Arts Finn became engaged with using glass as a surface for print making. She first came to explore the material through her maternal grandmother who makes stained glass. She found that glass was a magical material to work with and was imbued with history and symbolism. She was conceptually interested in how decorative objects enrich domestic spaces and how acts of care are facilitated through these objects.

Through glass fusing and kiln slumping techniques she creates joyful characters, depictions of nature and humorous narrative scenes. Through these colourful glass pieces she hopes to impart warmth and joy. She sees her making as an essential act of her being that connects the typically private acts of sweetness and care to public spheres; transmitting care to wherever the viewer may be.
